New Orleans is known for a lot of things, Hurricanes, Hand Grenades, Crawfish, Beignets and Coffee, and good natured fun. New Orleans is less known for its great golf and contribution to charities. We rank among the top in the world for both.
The Zurich Classic is played at TPC Louisiana, one of only 24 TPC courses in the world. This event has helped the Fore!Kids Foundation raise nearly $20 million for children's charities, benefiting more than 200,000 kids annually. When our visitors attend this great event, they are treated to a TPC course that offers a unique design to showcase the local habitat, including our stately cypress and oak trees.
This event is well attended by the elite of golf. Three of the top 10 players in the World Golf Rankings—Graeme McDowell (5), Steve Stricker (8) and Luke Donald (9) made early commitments to playing the ZurichClassic of New Orleans. They will be joined by the 2010 champion Jason Bohn as well as 2011 PGA TOUR winners Jhonny Vegas and Bubba Watson. You can also see former Zurich Classic winners David Toms (2001), Vijay Singh (2004), and Nick Watney (2007) who have committed to this year’s event.
I am proud of my city and its contributions to our world. You can purchase tickets to this fun event at http://zurichgolfclassic.com and support the Fore!Kids Foundation.
